WHO WE ARE
Young professionals looking to make a difference for future generations by changing the way mitigation sites are managed in perpetuity. Currently mitigation sites are handed off the land stewards that focus on the protection of the land for wildlife. While that is a very noble undertaking the mitigation sites are chosen based on hydrology not biology. Therefore there is a huge amount of valuable information that could still be collected to inform the selection and design of future mitigation sites. We are looking to change that and to make a repository of mitigation sites for all providers in North Carolina to learn from. With the end goal to have every stage of design (existing, proposed, as-built, and monitoring) cataloged in one place for every stream designer to be able to learn more about the riparian and wetland systems of North Carolina.

WHAT WE DO
Save the world!
Mitigation sites are the way we as a society have deemed to do good to the environment when we must do bad somewhere else. Yet there hasn't been any organization specifically founded to carry on that mission in perpetuity until now.
Our goal is to steward past mitigation sites in perpetuity in a way that not only upholds their easements obligations but also gathers even more information about them so that North Carolina providers can restore streams and wetlands in a an even more effective manor.
